Murder Of Philadelphia Activist Josh Kruger Leaves Trail Of Devastation

Shock and sadness spread following the murder of Philadelphia activist and journalist Josh Kruger.

Josh Kruger, 39, was shot seven times in his home on the 2300 block of Watkins Street around 1:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, in the Grays Ferry section of the city, police said.

He was pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Hospital at approximately 2:15 a.m. No arrests had been made as of press time.

On Sept. 30, Kruger tweeted out that he was being pressured into selling his home.

The news of Kruger's death spread swiftly across social media.

Kruger's website said his "unique combination of lived experience with homelessness, addiction, HIV, poverty, and trauma" influenced his journalism.
